## overview
Syntax stores all workout data locally on your device. We do not provide cloud sync, collect analytics, or run ads. If you enable the optional AI coach, messages are routed through a secure proxy to the AI provider (see AI features below).
## data storage
All workout logs, routines, settings, and history are stored locally on your device. Nothing is uploaded to any cloud service by Syntax itself.
## apple healthkit
Syntax can read and write data to Apple Health with your permission:
- Read: Workout history and heart rate data, so you can view all your training in one place.
- Write: Strength training workouts you log in Syntax, so they appear in Apple Health alongside your other activities.
HealthKit data is accessed only on-device and is never sent to external servers by Syntax. You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in Settings > Health > Data Access.
## ai features
Syntax includes an optional AI coach powered by Google Gemini. When you use the AI coach:
- Messages you send (which may include workout context) are routed through our secure proxy to the AI provider.
- We do not store or log your AI conversations on our servers.
- Messages are processed by Google Gemini. Refer to Google's AI terms for how they handle data.
## subscriptions & purchases
Syntax Pro subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We do not collect or store your payment information. Subscription status is verified on-device through the platform's native APIs.
## analytics & tracking
Syntax does not include any analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, advertising frameworks, or crash reporting tools. We collect zero data about your usage.
## third-party services
Syntax does not integrate with any third-party services other than the optional AI providers you configure yourself and Apple HealthKit.
## children's privacy
Syntax does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
## changes to this policy
If we update this policy, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date.
